  • How to Perform an Emergency Reboot
    • Please open the battery cover and you will find a small hole concealed underneath a black plastic sticker located on the bottom right of the unit. Please remove the black sticker and insert a narrow object such as a paper clip tip to press and hold down the reset button inside; then connect the data cable. Release the reset button when you see the "Emergency Reboot" screen display. The unit will now restore to factory settings - this will take approximately 5 minutes.
  • Technical Support If you are experiencing technical difficulties with the following:
    • Freezing
    • Clicking noise
    • Incorrect yardage
    • Won’t turn on

    Please perform a firmware update on your unit through using GB manager.
    If that does not fix the issue, attempt the following steps to perform an emergency reboot:
    1. Open the battery cover and you will find a small hole concealed underneath a black plastic sticker located on the bottom right corner of the unit.
    2. Remove the black sticker and insert an object such as paper clip to press and hold down the Reset button. While holding down the Reset button, click the power button. Release the Reset button when you see “Emergency Reboot”.
    3. The unit will now restore to factory settings. This process will take about 5 minutes.

  • How to Locate Serial Number • Behind Battery
    - Remove back cover and battery from unit.
    - Serial number is located on the inside back of unit.

    • Settings
    - Turn on the unit.
    - Go to Settings.
    - Go to System Information.

    • Outside of box
    - Turn box around and serial number will be on back of box.

    • Through GolfBuddy Manager
    - Connect unit with USB cable to computer
    - From left side tabs, select "Profile"
    - S/N will be displayed on bottom of screen
  • How to Set Time
    • The time will set automatically after the PT4 successfully connects to satellites. If you want to set your time manually, you can use the arrow icon or tap the location on the map to navigate your time zone. You can select the DST (Daylight Savings Time) option for the time zone to be adjusted automatically.
  • How to Access Green View
    • While in golf mode, please press the yardage number (located on the top right corner of the screen) to activate the green view mode.

    • To go back to the full layout mode, please press the yardage number once more.
  • How to Change Holes
    • While in golf mode, please press the hole number (located on the top left corner of the screen) to bring up the hole number selection.

    • Please press the arrows next to the hole number and select your desired hole number.
  • How to Enter Preview Mode
    • You can preview any golf course that is loaded on the PT4 unit. Please select "Play Round" and you can choose a nearby course or you can search by state or country. After you've selected the course, you will see a screen display with the preview mode box - if there is a check mark on this box, please press OK and you will be able to preview this course.
  • How to Change Time Zones
    • Please access the Main Menu by pushing the "Menu" button on the unit, or by touching the "Main Menu" selection on the "Locating Satellites" screen.

    • Select the Tool icon and you will see a category called "Select Time Zone. "You can select your desired Time Zone here.
  • How to Change Languages
    • Access the Main Menu by pushing the "Menu" button on the unit, or by touching the "Main Menu" selection from the "Locating Satellites" screen. Select the Tools icon and you will see an option labeled "language." You can select your desired language setting from this menu.
